Stress and Pie

Everyone handles stress differently, right?

Some people go for a run. Some people take a bubble bath. Some people have a good cry.

I actually do all of the above mentioned items, but the absolute best cure for stress management that I’ve found?

Baking. Pies, specifically.

This morning I made pies. The kitchen was quiet. There were no children volunteering to “help” and I had a hot cup of coffee.

It was perfect. Perfect for thinking. Perfect for praying. Perfect for working stuff out in my brain.

And I did. Work stuff out, that is.

And don’t worry. The pies will go to good use. We’re having a bunch of people over for a farewell party for one of my friends. I’m calling it a “good-pie” party. Witty, no?

But even if we weren’t having a pie party tonight, I still would’ve made pies.

Because guess what? Everything’s gonna be ok.

P.S. If you need some pie baking stress relief, I used these recipes for Cherry Almond Crumble Tart and Blueberry Crumble Pie.
