Things that make me feel good.

I had the day off today. I was talking about it last night at dinner with Matty B and the kids and they were chiding me about how I wasn’t actually going to relax and instead was going to “waste” the day cleaning. Matty B had the gall to call me a “workaHolley”.

Ha ha. Very funny.

But here’s some real talk for you. A day off that’s full of laying around and watching TV (what most people might consider to be relaxing) is not the least bit appealing to me. I want to have a stress-free day, but I also want to feel good.

Today I present to you…

Things that make me feel good:

  

A good, sweaty three mile run while watching a little Biggest Loser.

   
  
A smoothie. In the mix: 1 cup frozen cherries, 1 Orange, 1 cup almond milk, 1 cup ice.

  
Adele.

  
Coffee. And to be clear, Portland also makes me feel good.

  
Lunch with a friend. I had the yellow curry and pad Thai. Delish.

   

  
  

Taking the kids to gymnastics.

   
  J’s a teensy bit competitive.
  
And truth be told, I did clean. I did laundry and dishes and I vacuumed, and I loved it because I’m weird like that but also because Monica, Chandler, Ross, Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe kept me entertained.

Unpictured: a quick visit with grandma and papa, stories by the fire with Miss Rae, a cup of chicken enchilada soup, and a successful violin practice with J Man (this is virtually unheard of).

I might be a “workaHolley” but it was a good day and I’m not sorry!
