Green Piña Colada

I absolutely hate being cold.

Okay, this was pretty fun, but when Miss Rae asked to go inside, I was the first volunteer to assist her.

I hate being cold.

My sister and I were planning on running at 6 am tomorrow (gotta break in my Christmas shoes!…not to be confused with the song “Christmas Shoes”…)

But we took one look at the weather forecast and bailed.

Snowing on Monday? 19 degrees on Tuesday? No thanks.

So my lunch choice will totally surprise you.

A smoothie? An ice cold, frosty smoothie? I can’t explain it.

I take that back. I can explain it.

Christmas cookies, fondue, ice cream Yule log, gingerbread, and coffee cake. That explains it.

I took the normal piña colada ingredients and added some green juice. My concoction included banana, pineapple, large flake coconut (unsweetened) and vanilla yogurt. And, if you count my green juice, spirulina, chlorella, barley grass, spinach and broccoli.

It’s pretty ugly, so I used a goblet and garnished with a pineapple wedge. You eat with your eyes first, right?

And while I couldn’t necessarily channel myself to a warm, sandy beach, I did enjoy this smoothie. While sitting in front of the fire.

I hate being cold.
