Kinda Sorta Caesar Dressing

Some of us are already creating Christmas lists.


Miss Rae found a toy catalog and has been poring over it, more and more excited by each page she turns.

Because we need more toys.




The current object of her affection? This science kit. I had a 5 second fantasy about her being a child prodigy (a princess and a biologist?) but upon further questioning found out why this specific science kit was so inspirational.

Do you notice the bottom left hand corner of the photo above? Those are pop rocks. And thus, those are the only reason that my girl wants the science kit. For the candy.

I used to feel the same way about salad and croutons. The only reason I wanted the salad was for the croutons.


I still really like croutons but this dressing really gives croutons a run for their money.


It was supposed to be Caesar dressing, but somehow nutritional yeast and tahini don’t give the most accurate flavor profile to match anchovies.


No matter, as long as I’ve got croutons, I’m set.


Or, maybe pop rocks might be a good addition?

Kinda Sorta Caesar Dressing


1/4 lb firm tofu
1 TBS olive oil
1 TBS nutritional yeast
1 TBS tahini
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 garlic clove
2 TBS water
1/2 lemon, juiced
Dash of salt to taste


Purée all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth and creamy. Add more water for a thinner dressing.
