Today was the 100th day of preschool. In honor of this momentous occasion, J Man was supposed to dress like he was 100 years old.
I realize that he’s closer to Nerd Day in this picture than Old Person Day, but that’s probably a little taste of his future…
Papa’s glasses with the lenses popped out, a necktie, Great Grandpa’s cane, and you can’t tell, but chalk dust in his hair. And a sippy cup. He’s an old soul.
I love Miss Rae’s photobomb in the back. She’s a sassy soul.
I’m not too far from 100 years old myself. I wear glasses. In my teaching days I frequently had chalk dust in my hair. And who doesn’t love a sippy cup?
But I’m not anxious to get there too soon.
Thus, today I made a concerted effort to eat things guaranteed to keep me young.
Yogurt with berries, banana, and peanut butter. The other day my mom told me she was grossed out by what I was eating (brown rice mixed with pumpkin, coconut milk and almond butter). Her stomach is probably turning at this combo too. She’s kinda picky. That’s what happens when you get old.
Lunch out with a friend- hummus wrap with avocado, cucumber, tomatoes and leafy greens and iced tea. My friend had a French dip and a coke. Inside I was righteously indignant. I’m kinda judgmental. That’s what happens when you get old.
Snack: unpictured clementines.
Giant salad with cucumber, bell pepper, and carrot. I had a small appetite. That’s what happens when you get old.
And then I ate 1/4 loaf of focaccia. With olive oil. Cause you’re only young once…
