Runner’s Low

I’ve never been into “hair metal” (you know, like Bon Jovi and Poison), but these past two weeks, I’ve had “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)” by Cinderella running on a loop in my head.

No one likes a whiner, so I haven’t really said anything, but I really, I mean, really miss running. Ever since the ankle debacle of 2013, I’ve been taking it easy.

And it’s driving me crazy.

Similar to birthday parties when you’re on a diet, and weddings when you’ve just been dumped, everywhere I go, I see people running.

I’ve been ignoring my regular cooking blogs for running blogs like

Skinny Runner

Run Eat Repeat

Runs For Cookies

Running with Racheal

I apparently like torturing myself by reading about all the miles these girls are pounding out.

The last straw? Looking up local 5k’s and 10k’s and finding…

Nothing?!?!? Really? No turkey trot in Walla Walla? No Jingle Bell run?

And then I discovered this trifecta of virtual 5ks. One for Thanksgiving:

And then one on Christmas and one on New Year’s Day.

Even if I walk these, I have a running purpose in my life. Thank you, dvffitness. You’re my hero.

I am now complete.

  1. I hope your ankle is getting better!

  2. 🙂 Happy to help!! Glad you found my races! Hopefully your ankle is feeling better by then, a good month off should help a lot (looked pretty bad when you did it :/) And I’m the same way, when I’m injured and can’t run, I read running blogs WAAAAAY more.
