It might’ve been because Miss Rae requested the Baby Jesus story tonight before bed.
Maybe it was because I wore a red, wool scarf to work this morning and at no point was I too warm, so I left it on all day.
I could blame my mom who is already shopping for gifts for the kids. Note: she will stash said gifts under her bed and will promptly forget about them until a) the house floods and all gifts are ruined (this actually happened), or b) my children are spoiled rotten (hopefully this hasn’t actually happened…)
Whatever the case, I’ve got a smidge, just a smidge, of holiday spirit. Too soon? For sure. But the heart wants what it wants, and I want peppermint mocha.
Best of luck getting a vegan peppermint mocha at Starbucks. While we’re at it, best of luck getting anything at the Walla Walla Starbucks. Every time I go it’s apparent that a coffee shortage has hit the area. Crazy lines!
I’ve been really intrigued lately by brewing tea in my coffee. So far I’ve tried earl gray (subpar) and cinnamon (good). Tonight, in a nod to the super far away holiday season, I brewed peppermint tea in my French roast. For the chocolate flavor I added a tablespoon of carob chips and a tablespoon of chocolate Silk.
It was so good and really easy! You could top this with soy whip, if you’re so inclined. Just make sure you’re humming “Jingle Bells” quietly, otherwise you might not hear the trick or treaters at your door…in 29 days…
