Choices

I can do one or the other, but not both.

I can shower or I can fix my hair, but not both. Today, I chose clean. Certainly my co-workers were appreciative.

I can return phone calls or I can return emails, but not both. And in all reality, as much as I sigh heartily about the state of “kids these days” and their lack of communication skills, I would actually prefer to just reply via email or text. Don’t make me call you back. I don’t want to talk on the phone…

I can write blog content or I can take pictures, but not both. Today, you get content. Although, even “content” is questionable these days…

I made The Smart Kitchen’s Zesty Peanut Dressing. So good. So very very good. It even covered up the stench of some very funky kale.

Quick story. On my lunch break I ran to the grocery store for a bunch of kale. It’s my sweet mama’s birthday today (54! Wow! Sorry, mom…) and the fam was coming over for dinner. I meant to take the kale into the office with me and stick it in the fridge until I went home.

I forgot.

Oh man, that kale sat in my 90+ degree car and just stank it up. And it didn’t stop there! I brought it into the house and Matty B almost keeled over. J Man came upstairs and asked, “Did Miss Rae do a poo?” Even grandpa asked me, “Do I stink?”

Even so, I washed it and massaged Sarah’s creation in. While I can’t say that the entire family was on board, Unk C was a big fan and I was thrilled that my brother, who’s middle name is “beef”, liked my kale salad.

I can make kale salad or I can clean up the kitchen, but I can’t do both. Good thing I have Matty B! Thanks for doing the dishes!
