When you’ve been burning the candle at both ends (and sometimes in the middle), there has to be some recovery somewhere.
Today, I took a whole 24 hours to treat myself right- mind, body and soul!
It all started last night when I went to sleep (not just went to bed, but was sleeping) at 9 pm!
That made my 5:20 am wake up call manageable! Today was my 2nd to last spinning class before we move:( and it got my day off to a great start.
Breakfast- smoothie with frozen strawberries, frozen banana, spinach, flax seed, almond milk and peanut butter, topped with this chia seed cereal.
Coffee in a real mug, NOT a travel mug because I got to drink it at the breakfast table in my sweatpants! Glory be!
Oaks Park with the kids! We’ve never been after 7 years in Portland and the kids loved it!
It was “preschool day” meaning no kids over 6 years old. Perfect. No lines. No sassy teenagers. We rode the cars and the motorcycles again and again!
Lunch- snack plate of carrots, cucs, peppers, hummus, guac, chips and strawberries. The perfect light meal before…
The. Most. Amazing. Massage. Ever. I’ve been super tight and sore (stressed much?:) and she worked me over so good!
On the way to the massage I had a kombucha and a bunch of water.
After the massage I met my friend Ann for coffee. I didn’t want to be the weirdo who took a picture of my coffee so here’s the “after”…
Iced soy latte- it was ok.
Dinner- Black bean burger with lettuce, pickle and mustard. I had a coupon for these and picked some up at New Seasons. They were good. Nothing earth shattering, but fine. I’m anxious to try the other “harvest” flavor.
I tried to make some dessert which was a visual fail, but a mouthwatering success- more on that later!
P.S. it’s supposed to be a vegan Rice Krispy treat…
Mind, body and soul?
Check, check and check!
