Today was a great day.
I needed a great day:) Although, whether your life is stressful or not, who doesn’t need a great day?
I started out with a smoothie – shared three ways:) In general, my kids believe that all bread is whole wheat and all smoothies are green. This smoothie blew their minds because it was purplish red! Who knew?!?
In the mix: 1 frozen banana, 1 giant handful frozen cherries, 2 TBS yogurt, 1 TBS cocoa powder, 1 TBS flax seed, 1 giant handful spinach and enough almond milk to get it all going. Mine was topped with cacao nibs for crunch. It felt like summer and tasted like amazing.
A.M. beverages included a pumpkin chai tea from Peet’s and my “health tonic” (1 cup hot water mixed with 1/2 TBS honey and 1 TBS apple cider vinegar). Yes, I’m getting weird in my old age.
Then we headed to Bridgeport Village for a very important date with Santa.
I have a whole post dedicated to this monumentous occasion, but I will give you a teaser.
Santa was not a hit…
Luckily, lunch was.
Every time I go to Native Foods, every time, I’m always thrilled. I’ve never been disappointed. And I rarely get the same thing. This time I got the Chimi Chop Salad. So good.
Dinner was boring, but filling and good.
1/2 cup of quinoa, 1/2 cup of peas and 3 tenderbits. Tenderbits? For those not raised on Loma Linda canned food delight, this is soy protein. Fri Chik is supposed to taste like chicken. Big Franks are supposed to taste like hot dogs. Tenderbits are supposed to taste like…I don’t know. They’re good – if you grew up eating them.
And that’s it! I didn’t have any snacks today, mostly because I wasn’t hungry and didn’t think about it.
But now I want something sweet…
