It’s What I Ate Wednesday!

This was one of those days where I was looking forward to every meal! You know, you have those days when breakfast is toast (snore), lunch is pbj (how creative…) and dinner is scraps of your kid’s pasta with butter and salt (now you’re really living!)…

But today? Oh, today I was gooood…

Breakfast was Greek yogurt, (I know it’s not vegan…haven’t we talked about this before? Versatile, people. Versatile.) blueberries that Matty B and Miss Rae picked at Sandy Farms, banana, and an enormous hunk of my zucchini bread. There are no words.

Lunch before…

Lunch after…
Roasted sweet potato, fresh green beans, summer squash and Walla Walla sweet onions. Good on its own but GREAT with a little peanut sauce (but kinda ugly – sorry:).

Dinner was roasted broccoli slaw a la stuft mama, steamed broccoli (okay, so it wasn’t full of variety, but it was yummy!) and the best ever roasted tomato pesto pasta (recipe soon!)

Finally, I have to keep up with my 30 day health challenge! #24 – try a new fruit!

This is a pluot (plum/apricot combo). I bought this intentionally.

This is an Asian pear. Note the ‘bite’. While I was choosing the best pluot, Miss Rae decided she would assist with the grocery shopping and also do some taste testing. In my experience, stores aren’t usually able to sell produce that babies (no matter how cute they are) have gnawed on. Thus, the Asian pear joined the party…

The pluot was yummy. The flavor of the flesh kind of reminded me of a strawberry, although the skin was pretty tart. Am I not supposed to eat the skin? Pluot experts (if you exist…) HELP!

Have you tried a new-to-you fruit or veggie recently?

  1. Your lunch looks so healthy and love the peanut sauce ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I recently tried a grapple (mix between a grape and an apple). It tasted kind of like and oasis grape juice box with the appearance and texture of an apple.
