We seem to have misplaced Michigan.
J Man’s latest thing is geography- He knows all the states and their capitals (I don’t even know these. My 3 year old is officially smarter than me).
Anyway, we have a USA puzzle that my buddy is obsessed with. And Michigan disappeared. We’ve been frantically (and I mean frantically) looking for Michigan to no avail.
I feel the boy’s pain. I lost my phone a few months ago and thought the world was ending. I was almost as distraught as J Man is about his loss of the “Mitten State”. (Seriously, that’s one of it’s nicknames).
Last month I lost my Starbucks gold card. This was almost worse than losing my phone. With holiday drinks beckoning me daily, I’ve missed out on SO many stars! It’s killing me.
Losing things is hard. We needed something easy. And sweet. And salty. And Christmasy.
I get asked a lot, “Have you lost weight since you’ve been vegan?” If I have, it’s been 1-2 pounds- nothing noticeable. In all fairness, I’m happy with my current weight and haven’t been trying to take off the pounds. But let’s be clear here:
Just because you’re vegan doesn’t mean you’re automatically eating “healthy”.
Take these Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles, for example.
These are vegan. These are absolutely NOT low calorie. And unlike, say, mixed nuts that aren’t low calorie, but are healthy fats, these are NOT healthy either.
They will, however, help you deal with the loss of Michigan. Although Michigan is the Mitten State. We might need two pb truffles…
Salted Chocolate Peanut Butter Truffles

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1 cup melted chocolate chips
Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
Mix peanut butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar and corn syrup until smooth.
Form into 1 inch balls. Chill for 30 minutes.
Dip balls in melted chocolate and place on parchment lined baking sheets. Sprinkle with salt. Chill until chocolate is firm.
These are for you, Jen. You’re gonna love em!
